there is this me in me spreading
weightless into the immeasurable,
watching dispassionately
the phenomenal me
exploding in a fit of passion.
i see myself
arguing the particular, drilling home an irrefutable point,
seggregating, comparing,
quoting the provisions of the temporal
and asserting the cause of the vital...
there is also this me in me merging wide into the infinity
and seeping deep into the infinitesimal,
from my immutable stillness watching
the phenomenal me
in a very hot turmoil.

great, this capacity to step out of yourself and watchyourself. guess that's what's called detachment
exactly, ma'am! detachement. there are several levels of detachment. at the lowest level is the detachment we understand in the mechanical sense of the word. there the detached entity is a presence, something that stands outside as a definite entity and sees--there is a measure of subjectivity there, an attachment, an angle of looking at things. the next level i can conceive is detachment without the 'i' existing at all. i am no longer a presence, i don't exist, i am dead. look at the world around us without our existing, without an entity called the 'i' existing to have a stake in the goings around at all. then we see things with a certain kind of total equality--everything is equal. and we find amazingly how deeply we love everything, suddenly with what clarity we see. of course there are still higher levels that i am not yet capable of conceiving... Yoga Sutras of Patanjali goes deep into into it. but we have to go beyond reading and live in it and meditate on it to know the ascending levels of the union with the Divine.
