None of these

I am not the real me,
though now I live variously
the role of a son,
a husband, a father, a grandfather,
a somebody with a name and an address,
a friend, an opponent...

I am the sum total of all these
and the sum total of something else
and still I am none of these.

identity is the basis of all confusion, madam. but we have to run on parallel identities--that which is not and that which is.

Very true!!

something I can realate from Bhagavad Gita

"There has never been a time when you and I have not existed, nor will there be a time when we will cease to exist. As the same person inhabits the body through childhood, youth, and old age, so too at the time of death he attains another body. The wise are not deluded by these changes."
