friends

i turn the corner
in my car--the stray dog! smiles,
makes way, i smile back.

(smack in front! sorry,
he said, and moved to the side,
its all right, i said.)

This is what happens when “one steps out of the sterilized hum of one’s air-conditioned cabins and go to …” The Silent Valley Effect!

communication becomes necessary when there is duality. you and me and me and you. contemplate what it is when there is no duality. now i am talking about ultimate spirituality, very difficult indeed to fall into.

True communication need not be verbal, though I often grunt a response to the street dog when it barks out of habit "who goes there!" and it lets me go through.! Poetry begins to flower when you are in conversation with all creatures around you, including the idols in temples.

there are big possibilities when we, from deep within, understand what we call consciousness in its entirety. we are self-centric almost all the time--it is the i alone that fills our brain, isn't it? but on rare occasions, in spite of ourselves, we fall into communion with everything around us. that is the moment of poetry, though turning it into poem can never be the same.

Wondering how truly nice & spiritual it would have been had the stray dog found the car on its path instead & you had said 'sorry' and the dog, "it's all right'!
