oarless

floating oarless
down the river...the clouds, teals,
hold still the raft.

Haddock, now that you say it, you are right, the image is same. I had in mind the relative movement also. If you throw away the oars, stop the struggle and allow the currents to take you where they please, what happens? Then you start being able to see the movement of the raft in the larger perspective of the movement of a flock of teals flying in the sky and, still farther high, the movement of clouds blowing with the winds. You have to stop the struggle and fall silent to see the pains and pleasures of the moment in the larger context of your life and still larger perspective of Existence. It is a zen moment of revelation.
