Spring abloom

Driving home via my usual place after work in the night the thought that came to me was could I revive at the age of 55 my childhood dreams from the dust.

At the usual place my friend TNG said:

“Could I revive within me
Her symphony and song,
To such a deep delight 'twould win me,
That with music loud and long,
I would build that dome in air,
That sunny dome!
Those caves of ice!
And all who heard should see them there,
And all should cry,...”

He is a romantic, my friend TNG, and he was into his third drink. He is my own age, though with his lily white beard and hair and grave expression he looks several years older than me, according to my belief, which is a permanent thing of dispute between the two of us. His gruff voice belies the poet and lover in him.

I asked, can I, can I...
He said, yes you can!

My childhood dreams...

Can I, at the age of 55, revive from dust those old dreams,
Which i had forgotten
At some point or the other and had allowed myself
To drift, drift, drift and drift away...
Until all these years had slipped away...
Life itself had slipped away...

To the point now,
When I suddenly feel...
The dead roots coming alive...
The spring springing abloom!

Note: My childhood dream was to become a writer. I had attemped writing a novel when I was 12 years old, but half way through I found Dickens had already used that plot for his novel Oliver Twist.

Now I am reviving my old dream and am starting on a book. Will share it with my friends when it is ready.

Let it come forth. And I'm sure that all the springs and occasional winters added to your life ever since the first attempt would make the novel a pure treat.I can understand the disappointment caused by Dickens and later Paulo Coelho for I've heard many a writer complaining so. One such you'll find in your inbox :)

yes, Kiddy. And still the athlete I was 35 years back. I can even today walk on my hands, wiggle my ears, jump over the wall and should the alsatian come pouncing into the scene, climb the nearest tree in a jiffy.
The present day children can't do any of these! ha ha ha!!!
Thank you for coming to my blog!

This is what age is:I got a phone call from a friend 5 years ago to tell me that this man was 55,she had earlier told me that he was 35,that's a 20 years age difference, but he was really 40,now he is 45,and I was told he looks 47,and since his wife is 27,that's a 20-year age difference.Actually she told me he was 55 in a dream, but there you have it,age is just a #

Yours is a wonderful country, Kiddy! You are right. Age is just a number! You are as young or as old as you believe you are! From your note I get no idea of what the age of the person you refer to is! Are they happy together after these five years?

Oh yeah accoring to him she's a rocking wife, and my GF the one who called says the girl is happily married, and their former emplpoyee says they are happily married, but they have been married 2 years,4 months and 26 days and not 5 years. It goes to show that age gap makes no difference for lovers. And yes my country USA is a wonderful country, especially the South.

He is 45 and she is 27 by the way according to their birth years, but God told me that he's 55 in the dream.

Venu Maash ....

like I told you some time ago , you are very very very young at heart. And I believe for people like you, acting on your childhood dreams is but child's play !

Go for it Venu Maash .... am sure it'll be one awesome read !
